A warm welcome to our award winning free-house, The Pelican Inn, Tacolneston, South Norfolk.

The Pelican is a traditional Norfolk PUB and local REAL ALE SHOP, with an adjoining RESTAURANT and en-suite bed and breakfast ACCOMMODATION. We are located just 15 minutes south of the historical city of Norwich, in the quaint village of Tacolneston near Wymondham, south Norfolk.

As a family owned free-house, we passionately apply ourselves wholeheartedly to all aspects of our business and believe strongly in fresh local produce whilst supporting a number of small local communities. We have a strong clear philosophy, offering ‘choice, quality and value for money’, whilst ensuring that all our customers feel welcome and valued in a friendly, clean and relaxed environment.

Our Food Philosophy

Local produce and freshly made meals are important to us, so therefore we don’t believe in using cheap, quick substitutes in any of our meals; where stated we make our own sauces, chutneys, breads, ice-creams and desserts ,’we even cut our own chips’ and have a strict ‘no frozen food’ delivery policy. As a Norfolk country pub, The Pelican is in the ideal position to make the most of having easy access to locally grown produce so we make regular visits to the nearby local markets and farms for our meat, fish, dairy and vegetables.

We, as a strong, small team believe in offering choice within a seasonal British menu; with a beautiful philosophy on ‘quality, value and dining experience’. This has been highly independently reviewed, and therefore this Norfolk restaurant has been favourably re-visited. Here, the ambience is soothing; the service is efficient and friendly yet unobtrusive. As with any good restaurant; booking is always advisable, to avoid disappointment.

What a lovely lunch-time experience.! Beautiful, clean warm pub with real character and old style charm. little things that make the place so special is the real ale bottled shop stocking over 100 real ales from all over Norfolk what a novel idea, Cute little sweet jars behind the bar and such an array of single malts! im now going to be there biggest fan! and we only live in new buckingham so what a treat to have such a lovely local on ourdoor step! oh food also was very good, and highly tastey. open gammon and apple homemade pie with fresh vegetables! and my husband had a special of venison from the board loved it!
