Description
The Wiremill is a 16th Century mill sitting on its own 26 acre lake.

Gastro pub food is served all day cooked by Jason and Tony our two creative head chefs. Our food is locally sourced, within a 20 mile radius of the pub whereever we can.

Set on the lake you can enjoy a range of locally sourced cask ales, always 5 on tap, wines sourced locally and around the world by the bottle or glass and a range of snacks and Tapas.

We serve a number of fish and vegetarian dishes as well as a pies, beef Wellington's and other pub classics.

I'm glad to see you have The Wiremill featured on this site. The venue has always had a reputation because of the amazing lake it is built on, the views are probably the best in the country, you feel as if your in Scotland or the alps. However, we have only had drinks here because the food has always been a bit ropey. No longer! We ate with friends last night and its the best food i have had out for years. My girlfriend is Vegetarian, normally faced with cauliflower cheese or lasagna, but she was amazed with the choice, Aubergine and Goats cheese stack was the choice and she loved it. The girls serving were polite and we had good banter as the night drew on. The reason i have given service 4* is because we could have done with a bottle of water, but didn't get offered it and a couple of dishes had sold out on the menu, otherwise it would have been a rack of 5*. It's not cheap, but the quality shines through. If we lived closer i would visit every week, but we will still make the drive when thinking of a top pub to eat in. A fantastic evening.
