I have been going to this Pub for a number of years and have just come across this site. I have always found the Plough a great place to visit, drink & eat. Sure, it's not cordon bleu or new cuisine but it offers an excellent choice of menu at a reasonable price. I would heartily recommend it to anyone who wants a comfortable experience in a popular village pub.

For the food in this pub, 1 star is generous. Very overpriced for what is essentially frozen food warmed up. We recently moved to the area, and saw the pub signed from the road. We visited with friends and were embarrassed to have taken them. Alarm bells should have started when our server didn’t know what the soup of the day was, what beers they had on tap and told us we would be better going to find out ourselves! The combo starter consisted of frozen chips, frozen onion rings, frozen chicken nuggets and garlic bread. All for £7.20! All the main meals were just straight out of the freezer except for the pasta sauce which was out a jar. On average the main meals were £8.95 but the steak that one of the party had was £15. The steak was tough, overdone and served with salad which must have been days old. In fact another couple who were eating sent theirs back and quickly left. The peas that came with the meal were the driest peas I have ever seen. The glasses and cutlery were dirty and the vinegar pot smelt like it had been there for 6 months and had never been cleaned. Needless to say we didn't stop for dessert! Leaving £66 lighter, we felt robbed. Finally, they advertise that they have a selection of real ales, they actually only have one! You would be better off going to the Little Chef up the road! (At least you get free refils) Please do not waste your money here! This pub is a shame to Lincolnshire.

I ate here for the first time on New Year's Day 2010. I was amazed at the wonderful welcome I received from the local folk gathered for a New Year's drink or bite to eat as well as from the Landlord. We were made so warmly welcome and the pub was really lovely. We ordered food which was hot tasty and very reasonably priced especially considering the day! I live in Leeds and visit partner lives in Boston. We don't often get out towards Grantham but I'm making it a MUST DO visit within the next couple of weeks. I can't wait to bring friends from Yorkshire to show them what REAL hospitality is like. Excellent ***** Thank You

A log fire in winter, friendly staff and really good food. We often drop in early on a Saturday or book for later in the evening. Friendly staff, great food, a nice pint of Fosters - all in all, a great Lincolnshire pub venue

We first used the Plough over three years ago, not long after the current landlords took over, and despite having two pubs in our own village, consider it well worthwhile travelling that extra distance to obtain the good wholesome food, personal service and warm hospitality that is always on offer. The Plough is a traditional English Pub with alot extra. I just hope that the landlords never decide to move on.
