Value for Money:
The Crofters is very much a family pub situated on the outskrits of Barrow on the Holbeck estate. The menu is ok, but keep an eye on the specials chalked on the boards in the restaurant for some particularly good stuff. I was lucky enough to go when they had an 18oz T-Bone on the specials menu and I'm (yet) to find anything that matches such a steak in the area. From what I could see the fillet steak and battered cod was also a decent size and well presented. They do all the steak sauces, the diane, peppered, béarnaise etc for a couple of quid. Crofters also does a German lager who's name escapes me, which is nice but has a fair snap to it if your not keeping count! The bar next door has a pool table and some half-decent tunes on the jukebox and atmosphere is friendly. Definitely worth considering if your in the area. Very good if you have kids and looking for somewhere nicer to eat. Prices are probably in the moderate to high for the area, but the quality, portions and service is equally up there.
