Ye Olde Fighting Cocks is in the delightful, picturesque village of Arnside on Morecambe Bay. It offers fantastic views to go with home cooked food and an open fire. The terraced garden looks out onto the sands, towards the Lake District, and from here, you can watch the bore race in along the estuary. Arnside is lucky to have such an inviting public house, and any visitors to the area would certainly feel happy with Ye Olde Fighting Cocks as their chosen accommodation.

This was my first time in this pub and I was really, really impressed by the ambience. They had converted one of their bars into a proper dining area and done it exceedingly tastefully. The view over the Kent estuary with the Lake District Mountains in the background only added to the general good feel around this pub.
The next thing that stood out was the service level. The person who served us was just fantastic, warm and very helpful. The selection too was very acceptable and the food I had was very well cooked and my companions made similar comments about theirs.
I selected a somewhat more exotic dish, which one of my companions also did and the quantity was a little on the small side but I could see if you went for more conventional faire the quantities were, well enormous.
We will certainly return to this pub and I would highly recommend it to anyone.
