A Greene King pub, 'The Trip' in Nottingham, is England's oldest inn. With its own development kitchen, you can be sure that eating here will be a pleasure for the taste buds!
This has got to be one of the best pubs in and around the Midlands let alone Nottingham. As soon as you enter it is like entering another century and reading a whole history book!
Ye Olde Trip has a real sense of character and is the most unusual pub that you could perhaps come across with service and atmosphere second to none. The historic surroundings and the cosy little areas create a truly relaxing and harmonious environment which caters for all ages.
The food is good value for money with lots of choice from quick snacks i.e. sandwiches to jacket potatoes to main meals and has a good range of vegetarian meals as well as junior meals. The service is also very good and is of a high standard. There is a nice selection of drinks from good house wines to real ales adding to the experience.
Although I have not personally attended, Ye Olde Trip also has story telling nights i.e ghost nights which I am told are very good. Any visitor must also visit the upstairs snug where there is a ship in a bottle which has rumour that it has some sort of mysterious powers!
Whether you are just popping in for a quick drink and snack or you are wishing to dine where there is a really warm and friendly atmosphere then you can pop into Ye Olde Trip and you will not leave dissappointed. It is a time that you will remember with fond memories.
