Came to the Crow Inn for a family meal, along with my 8 month old son. We did call ahead to make sure it was ok to bring my son along and was told it was no problem. When we arrived a table was set with high chair, no problems. Ordered our food, not much choice but enjoyed it anyway. My son then needed a nappy change, I asked at the bar where the baby changing facility was, the bar man called over a waitress, I asked her again and she told me they have no baby changing facilites. So I asked where am I able to change my sons nappy, she said I could use the ladies toilets. However the ladies toilets were very small, two small cubicles and a two small basins with no surface to put my son on. There was a chair holding the door open to the toilets which I managed to drag inside and had to change my son on that. I was disgusted with this, how can they claim to be child friendly when they don't have baby changing facilites? Will not be going again.

October 2009: enjoyed fabulous birthday meal for 10, we were all so impressed with starters especially, that we were swapping tastings all round the table! All agreed excellent meal and ambience. Later I took 40 ladies for a Christmas lunch, we were very well taken care of, we had pre-ordered although told not necessary to do so, we are keen to repeat this year, we negotiated a lovely Christmas lunch with coffee and tip included for £20 per head.

I visited last week for lunch with my husband as an impromptu 'treat' and wished I had gone anywhere else! We both ordered a Ploughmans Lunch which arrived on dodgy looking bread boards which had seen too many runs through the dishwasher and was a sad attempt at looking 'rustic'. We ordered a side order of 'Crown Chips'. They were served in a dish that you would use to hold mustard or mayonnaise (i.e, very small). The dish held literally six chips. Chunky cut but still only six chips. Whilst I appreciate the item was a side dish and I don't expect a full portion; SIX chips? for £2.50? I apparently could have had more (at a further cost). There was no offer to take the price off the bill. The ploughman's lunch itself was fine, the pate a little loose and over-garlicky and no relish or chutney provided unless you call a teaspoon of caramelised onion in a little ramekin, relish. I had to ask for butter for the bread which arrived frozen solid on a plate. Shame really as I have spent hundreds of pounds here and always go here for special occasions. No more. And all because of six chips and poor service.

I booked a table here for a reunion with some old school friends so there were eight of us in total. However afterwards I had read some pretty scathing reviews about the place so wasn't sure. I like to make my own mind up though and pretty glad I did. Menu choice was pretty good when you throw in the fish menu. (Main menu had a choice of about 6 meals). First thing you may notice is the price. At first glance it looks pricey, but when you get your meal you see that this isn't your every day 'pub grub'. If you want that, don't go here. There has been some thought and effort into the quality and presentation of the food. My meal was excellent, the service was prompt. The only thing I can say is, if you are hoping to eat the best that they offer here, don't carry less than £50 per head. That said, you can get three courses of fine food for around £25 per head. Possibly the only thing that narked me a little was that once we were finished they seemed in a rush to free up the table. That said, they are running a business and it was very busy. Overall experience was very good..
