I'll consider this one of my favourite eating - out nights. Of course it was my perfect and very playful! company to make it special once again :))) but on top of that we had a truly beautiful atmosphere in this so cozy low - sealing dining room. The starters were exciting and very filling and of course the carvery was heaven, just delicious. I'm describing an evening i will always happily look back at :)

It is positively a wonderful choice if you are searching for a warm, almost home loving atmosphere along with sharing delicious food. The very cosy environment is what got me most and turned this into a very nice evening. The staff was very friendly and at your disposal at any time. I think we'll be coming here again :)

The worst meal I have ever had. For starters: White onion & soup - to much Mushrooms with garlic sauce - boiling cream with touch of garlic, heat of those mushrooms ruined them, couldn't really eat that For mains we had: Cheese tart - cold tart, with no taste at all, overdone new potatoes Ham, egg and chips - only ham was eatable, the rest... overcook egg, cold chips to hard to cut by knife.. We love puddings, but decided not to have them... we just didn't want to be disapointed more then we already been. Really cheap (around £7.00 for two courses) but even for this price you can do really good, tasty food.

Good value for money, lovely staff, quick service and great piping hot food. Have a good deal on at the moment lunch time menu two courses for £6.50 or three for £8.50. Well worth a visit but does get very busy booking would be a good idea.

Lovely atmosphere and great carvery meal. Good for the children - play area being put in soon apparently. Option of other menu items if you didn't like the carvery - well worth not having to cook yourself - we'll be going back!

Best carvery I've been to for ages. Closest to home-cooked standard, much better than the 'chains'. Service good and all staff friendly (if busy!) and warm. Highly recommended.

The Old Friar in twywell, and what can i say!! it look lovely, the staff also lovely. they made me and my family feel welcome from the second we stepped in the front door! it was a sunday lunch, which we had to book weeks before. Good job it was sunny as you couldn't move inside. It was around 2pm, are table wasn't ready as we booked it for 2.30. when 2.15 came they asked us down to the table, we sat by the window looking out front, as we asked for this table, my mother can't see to well. a few minutes late are order was taken and are starters were placed in front of us. we had homemade soup of the day, pate and duck salad (which isn't on the sunday menu, but my friend told me about it, so i asked) it was lovely, the duck melted in my mouth. then to the carvery, all the meat's cook just right. Couldn't say a bad word about it. after are main meal we couldn't make room for any more. so we ask for the bill which when it was placed on the table in front of us we couldn't believe it, 3starters 4mains and drinks only came to £56. value for money i must say. I will be going back very soon.
