I eat at The Sun, Crook, quite often and love it. I'm always looking for a change on the menu though and never find it! I end up having the same dish each time I go. It's consistently fabulous, so maybe I daren't try another for fear of being disappointed? I did try something else last night... I had a delicious, well presented goat's cheese bake. I wasn't disappointed but I did miss my sausage and mash! Two mini-problems for me... pate & toast: too much pate, too little toast (my British reserve doesn't allow me to ask for more toast ;o)) and sticky toffee pudding: a bit like a sticky toffee pudding flavoured sponge I felt. Though large portions!!

Chose this pub from other peoples ratings, and was not let down. Food cooked fresh (so you wait a while) but homemade chips a superior vegetable selection and deserts of a high quality made this a excellent meal all round

Lovely traditional pub with a warm welcoming atmosphere. We went as a group of four and all had very nice tasty meals at a reasonable price.
