This pub has recently been changed to a "Meet & Eat" franchise and I'm afraid to say it's not been a change for the better.
Before the change the food at The Bakers was good, fresh, interesting and great value and service was always with a smile. Now, unfortunately it is the opposite. As this website is called Enjoy Your Meal I think it is fair to say that you would have to avoid The Bakers Arms in order to Enjoy Your Meal.
I ate there in July 2012 with my husband, daughter and my in laws and was disappointed to say the least. Mass produced, cold, tasteless food. We arrived as the pub opened and placed our order first. We ordered Sunday roast dinners and it took almost 30 minutes for them to appear and when they did they were cold. The beef was tough and tasteless, the vegetables had been cooked to a mush and they were delivered to our table by 2 sulky school girls. When I made a polite complaint about the food they giggled and wandered back to the kitchen chatting about us looking over their shoulders and laughing.
Needless to say we won't be visiting again, which is a real shame considering we live within walking distance and regularly have friends to stay -we usually eat out when we have guests. The brewery might be trying to cut costs, but they really are catering for those with dead tastebuds!
