We arrived at this very popular Inn at about 12.15 on a Sunday lunchtime. It was just as well that we did because within 15 minutes you could safely say there was no room at the inn and people were waiting for spaces at tables. Consequently we did have to wait for our food, but it was worth the wait. As we were going to have our own Sunday meal later we opted for sandwiches and I had a starter, all of which was beautifully presented. The range of food available on a Sunday was excellent, often you find that they don't want to deal with "snacks" on a Sunday and just stick to roast dinners. Not only did they have the normal menu but they have an extensive specials board with plenty of choice ranging from traditional roast dinner fare to the more exotic and vegetarian options. We have been a few times and have always been impressed with the food and service and whilst it may not be the cheapest pub meal it is cooked to order and is well presented. I would recommend this experience to others, however, be aware that it is a very popular establishment especially with walkers and cyclists and the car parking at the inn is quite limited although parking is allowed in the lane.

Situated between Kendal and Windermere, this is an ideal place to meet up with friends either for a quick lunchtime nibble, or a full-blown meal. The food is fresh, presented beautifully, served with care, and plentiful! The Watermill Inn is a very dog friendly pub and has a stunning beer garden.
