Description
Foxt is a beautiful village on the edge of the Peak District, and The Fox & Goose Restaurant and Inn sits comfortably in such a setting. With wonderful views to admire the year round, and a log fire for the cooler months, families and dogs are made to feel very welcome here.

With locally sourced food, and a menu boasting such dishes as honey glazed duck and pan fried venison haunch alongside more traditional choices like the Fox & Goose burger and beer battered haddock, everyone will find something to relish at the Fox & Goose!

    We visited this pub / restaurant last week while on holiday in the area on the recommendation of others and were not disappointed. The welcome on arrival was warm, and the service attentive yet friendly. All food is served in a separate Dining Room and it is evident that the new(ish) owners have spent much time on making this a welcoming environment. The food - prepared by the chef / owner - was first rate and was of the quality one would expect in a good restaurant, but at pub prices. Starters were enormous and accompanied by warmed rolls - a nice touch - all for around £5 each. Extremely tasty slow roast belly of pork - the best I have tried - with Dauphinoise potatoes, Leek, and side vegetables at £11. If that is not good value, what is? Bar type meals at around £7, and of equal quality were also available. All in all, a great find and a pub I cannot recommend too highly.
